Who Does the New Labour Package Serve?

In the context of the debate surrounding the proposed labour package, Eduardo Castro Marques, Managing Partner at Dower, stated in an interview with CNN Portugal that companies are not seeking to harm workers, but rather to contribute to a more balanced labour framework better suited to the current needs of the job market.

During the interview, he also addressed the issue of reinstatement, stressing that the public debate on the matter has been shaped by incorrect interpretations. As he stated:

“With regard to reinstatement, we cannot continue to perpetuate the idea that reinstatement will be abolished. This is an idea that is not supported either by the draft proposal itself or by the subsequent versions that followed.”
