Algarve Territorial-Based Incentive System: Creation and Expansion

Applications are now open for projects aimed at supporting small-scale investments for the creation of micro and small enterprises, as well as for the expansion or modernisation of their activities.

Operations that promote the diversification of the regional productive base are eligible for support, through:

• Development of activities in the industrial sector, or
• Promotion of the domains of the Regional Strategy, namely:
  • Blue Economy;
  • Terrestrial Endogenous Resources;
  • Cultural and Creative Industries;
  • Health, Well-being and Longevity;
  • Environmental Sustainability;
  • Digitalisation and ICT.

Eligible entities for application

Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.

Geographical area covered

NUTS II Region – Algarve.

Eligible expenses

• Tangible assets, including the acquisition of machinery, IT equipment and, in exceptional and duly justified cases, vehicles may also be eligible;
• Intangible assets, including patent rights, licences, non-patented technical know-how, and standard or purpose-developed software;
• Studies, diagnostics, audits, marketing plans, architecture and engineering services;
• Specialised consultancy services provided by external consultants, including expenses related to the intervention of certified accountants or statutory auditors in validating expenditure for payment claims;
• Certification of products, processes or services, as well as costs related to the design and registration of new trademarks;
• Construction of buildings, renovation works and other constructions, provided they are duly justified by the objective of the operation;
• Indirect costs.

Support

The support takes the form of a non-repayable grant at a rate of up to 60%, for minimum investments of €25,000. The application phases are scheduled for 30 July 2026 (Phase 1), 30 October 2026 (Phase 2) and 15 January 2027 (Phase 3).
